CASE STUDY
Sports Club Mobile Application
A pilot mobile application for a sports club replacing phone-based schedule queries, paper membership forms and manual QR check-in with a single member-facing system.
The problem
Members contact the club by phone or in person to ask about their schedule, membership status, upcoming training sessions and document renewals. The office answers the same questions repeatedly throughout the day.
Membership licenses and agreements are stored on paper. There is no structured way to notify members about cancellations, schedule changes or new availability. Training access control is manual.
What the application includes
The pilot scope is a mobile application that gives each member access to their personal data and their club without calling the office.
- Member profile — personal data, membership tier, license validity and expiry alerts
- Training schedule — full club calendar with filtering by discipline and instructor
- Licenses and service status — current status, renewal dates and document uploads
- Documents and agreements — signed contracts available in-app, new agreement acceptance flow
- Announcements — push notifications and in-app feed for cancellations, schedule changes and club news
- QR access — member QR code for entry control at training sessions
- Coach and admin tools — attendance tracking, member list and schedule management
What we are validating
This is a pilot. The business assumption being tested is whether a structured digital channel reduces incoming phone volume at the club office and whether members adopt self-service access.
Technical validation targets: mobile UX for non-technical users across multiple age groups, real-time schedule sync without a complex backend, and QR check-in flow that works reliably at the entrance without internet dependency.
Next development stages
If the pilot confirms adoption, the next stages are online membership purchase and renewal, training reservation with capacity limits and payment integration for individual session bookings.
